A service centre for PAC-3 interceptor missiles for the US-made Patriot air defence systems will be built in Poland.
Poland’s Deputy Defence Minister, Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka, announced this on the X platform.
Four European countries competed for the right to host the facility: in addition to Poland, Germany, the Netherlands and Norway also sought the investment. However, the Polish proposal received the highest rating at the application stage.
According to Sobkowiak-Czarnecka, the decision was preceded by months of hard work and ongoing negotiations with the American side.
- In May this year, Poland received preliminary approval from the US State Department to manufacture missiles for Patriot systems.
