Preparations for a humanitarian mission to assist the civilian population are under way in Oleshky. Specialists are currently demining routes to ensure the safe delivery of humanitarian aid and allow people to leave the city.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets.
According to him, preparations for the mission are continuing jointly with Russia’s Human Rights Commissioner, Yana Lantratova. The work is being carried out with the mediation and coordination of US First Lady Melania Trump, whose efforts helped the sides reach the necessary agreements and move to their practical implementation.
Since 27 October, a ceasefire regime has been in place in the designated areas, which, Lubinets said, the sides are observing.
Demining the routes is an important stage in preparing for the delivery of humanitarian aid and the departure of civilians who wish to leave Oleshky.
Lubinets added that the sides continue to work on implementing the mission to help people and ensure they can reach a safe area.
