In the EU’s 22nd sanctions package, new Russian oligarchs linked to the aggressor country’s military-industrial complex could come under restrictions.
Vladyslav Vlasiuk said this during a briefing, Ukrinform reports «Ukrinform».
Vlasiuk called it a huge mistake for the European Union to lift sanctions on Russian oligarchs Mikhail Fridman and Alisher Usmanov. According to him, the Ukrainian side immediately предложила partners a list of 10 other Russian oligarchs linked to the defence industry and believes it is right to impose sanctions on them.
He also added that some of these names may appear in the EU’s 22nd sanctions package.
- On 22 September, EU countries reached a compromise on extending sanctions against Russia, but removed two Russian billionaires from the blacklist — Alisher Usmanov and Mikhail Fridman.
- As a result, a number of states introduced national sanctions against these individuals. In particular, Britain assured our country that it would not lift sanctions on Usmanov and Fridman. Lithuania, meanwhile, introduced its own restrictive measures against them and froze their assets.
