On the morning of 31 October, three airports in Moscow restricted operations due to an attack involving balloons carrying drones. Later, a fire broke out near Sheremetyevo.

This is reported by the ASTRA monitoring channel.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin claimed that 11 drones allegedly heading for the Russian capital had been shot down. At the same time, residents of the Moscow region reported explosions, including near the settlement of Nakhabino.

The fire started in woodland north of Sheremetyevo Airport, near the “TZK Sheremetyevo” fuel and lubricants depot. A column of black smoke rose above the site.

According to ASTRA, the fire may have been caused by the fall of a downed drone or by the work of Russian air defences. The outlet’s OSINT analysis located the seat of the blaze near the airport’s Terminal D.

  • Overnight on 29 October, drones struck Moscow and the Moscow region. Sobyanin claimed that more than 613 incoming weapons had allegedly been shot down.
