Death Toll From Russian Strike on Komyshuvakha Rises to 50

The number of people killed in a Russian air strike on the settlement of Komyshuvakha in Zaporizhzhia district on 2 November has risen to 50.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service.

During search operations, rescuers found and recovered the bodies of a further eight people from under the rubble.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing.

  • On 2 November, Russian forces attacked a school in Komyshuvakha that was being used for humanitarian purposes: local residents were receiving aid there. According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the settlement was hit several times by aerial bombs from the morning. After the first attack, the Russians carried out a repeat strike with nine more bombs — specifically targeting the shelter where people were.
  • As a result of the strike, two rescuers and four police officers were killed.
