President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with European Council President António Costa.
According to the head of state, they discussed Ukraine’s EU integration process.
“We are working to close all negotiating clusters by the end of this year, and next year move on to closing the negotiating chapters and quickly continue towards our accession. We also discussed new ideas that could genuinely speed up the entire process. We agreed that António will discuss everything with Ursula,” Zelenskyy said.
The meeting also addressed preparations for a trilateral format meeting in Abu Dhabi. Zelenskyy briefed Costa on talks with the American side and stressed that “Ukraine has always advocated for Europe to be at the negotiating table”.
“When it comes to security guarantees and Ukraine’s economic recovery, it is impossible to discuss this without Europe’s representatives. And António supports our position,” Zelenskyy added.
- Trilateral talks involving Ukraine, the United States and Russia, as is known, are scheduled for 10–11 November in Abu Dhabi.
