Ukrainian FPV drone manufacturer Winfly, together with Taiwanese boatbuilder Fortmosa, are working on an unmanned drone-carrier boat designed to deploy interceptor drones. This is stated in a Winfly press release.

The company says the system is intended to protect and secure waters and coastlines, as well as to intercept aerial targets from the water. Going forward, the partners plan to develop a range of multi-purpose unmanned boats capable of carrying different types of drones.

Winfly develops the boat’s requirements together with customers for specific missions. Fortmosa then prepares the design and builds a prototype, while Winfly equips it with autonomy systems and various types of drones. The boat is then fitted with detection equipment, including passive radars that pick up radio signals, and optical stations to verify targets by day and night.

Fortmosa manufactures boat hulls from high-density polyethylene. According to the company, these hulls are lightweight, resistant to impact and corrosion, do not crack in freezing conditions, and pontoons filled with polystyrene foam make them virtually unsinkable.
