President Volodymyr Zelensky met Portugal’s President António José Segura in Madrid on 5 November. He thanked him for the condolences expressed over the Russian strike on a humanitarian aid distribution point, which killed at least 43 people.
Zelensky stressed that the enemy carries out drone and missile attacks every day. There has been extensive damage to the energy sector.
“We discussed with Mr President how Portugal can support our energy system and protect lives in Ukraine. We also talked about our opportunities for joint weapons production. We very much hope there will be new steps in support,” Volodymyr Zelensky said.
Yesterday, the President of Ukraine announced that talks would be held in Spain, including on strengthening air defence.
