In October 2026, demining units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Special Transport Service cleared mines and explosive remnants of war from 1,804 hectares of liberated territory. During this period, sappers found and destroyed 336 explosive items.
This was reported by Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence.
In particular, over the month specialists cleared:
- 459.55 hectares of agricultural land;
- 6.87 kilometres of roads;
- 40.1 kilometres of railway tracks.
Overall, since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, demining units have found and destroyed 483,702 explosive items.
