On 4 February, the Petro Poroshenko Bloc (PPB) will hold a meeting with the participation of Economic Development and Trade Minister Aivaras Abromavicius, a source in the Cabinet of Ministers has told LB.ua.
"At 9 a.m. the PPB faction will hold a meeting to be attended by Abromavicius," the source said.
Economic Development Minister Aivaras Abromavicius tendered his resignation today in protest against what he described as PPB senior figure Ihor Kononenko's attempts to subdue the ministry. Kononenko dismissed the allegations as an attempt to shift responsibility for his failures.
Abromavicius's two deputies, Yuliya Klymenko ad Maksym Nefyodov, also tendered their resignation requests.
By the evening it transpired that Petro Poroshenko suggested that Abromavicius should keep his post. In the president's words, the minister took time to think. Poroshenko added that Abromavicius's statements should be checked by the Anticorruption Bureau as an independent agency.
