Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMM) Alexander Hug will visit Shchastya tomorrow, 25 May, to open a new SMM Forward Patrol Base, the mission has said on its website.

"Forward Patrol Bases are designed to extend monitors’ presence in areas where the most tensions exist, thereby enabling the Mission to follow up on the incidents faster and more efficiently," it said.

In January, the OSCE opened a Forward Patrol Base in Stanytsya Luhanska, the eighth one in Donbas. Its work was suspended in March for security concerns.
