Seven Ukrainian troops wounded in Donbas, no fatalities
Mortar attacks continue all along the frontline.
No Ukrainian servicemen have been killed, but seven injured, in the anti-terrorist operation in Donbas in the past 24 hours, the presidential administration's press officer on ATO Andriy Lysenko told a briefing in Kyiv on 8 June
In the Luhansk sector, the Popasna raion, militants breached the regime of quiet once, he said.
In the Donetsk sector, fire was opened 17 times, including ten times from mortars and one from artillery weapons, he said. In particular, shelling of the position at the Putylivska mine occurred; 18 projectiles were fired.
A series of mortar attacks were conducted along the entire frontline. The tension spots were as usual, including Zaitseve, Avdiyivka, Svitlodarska Duha and other districts of the Horlivska agglomeration.
One local resident suffered multiple shell fragment wounds following the mortar fire on the residential districts of Avdiyivka, he said.
Mortar fire was opened on the positions of the Ukrainian troops in five areas of the frontline at once in the Mariupol sector - in Novotroitske, Vodiane, Lebedynske and Shyrokyne - in the past 24 hours, he said. A total of 18 attacks, including with mortars, conducted by militants occurred in the Mariupol sector in the past 24 hours, he said.
