No armed aggression against Ukraine will originate from the territory of Belarus, neither with the participation of the Belarusian Armed Forces or with the participation of the armies of "third countries", the ambassador of Belarus to Ukraine, Valyantsin Vyalichka, said during the presentation of the research of the Institute of World Policy, "Foreign Policy Audit: Ukraine-Belarus" in Kyiv on 8 June.
"The head of our country has unambiguously stated: there will never be aggression originated from our territory. Furthermore, no third country will be allowed to carry out such aggression," the ambassador said as reported by an Lb.ua correspondent.
The diplomat also stressed that Belarus supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
He recalled that Minsk does not encourage participation of its citizens in the armed conflict in Ukraine and considers this is a criminal offence. "We are conducting peaceful policy - and those who break it must be held accountable," said Vyalichka.
The former ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus, Roman Bezsmertnyy, in turn, said that Minsk's being in the geopolitical orbit of Moscow carries security risks, including for Belarus itself.
"Please, take notice of what is going on - legally and illegally - on the territory of Vitsebsk and Homel regions, " Bezsmertnyy said, referring to the recent unrest in northern Kazakhstan.
