Pro-Russian militants have launched 27 fire attacks against antiterrorist operation (ATO) servicemen in Donbas since the start of the day, the ATO press centre said on Facebook on 26 August.
In the Luhansk sector, the day started with the enemy barraging Krymske with over 50 shells of 122-mm calibre. The enemy used machine guns against Zolote and grenade launchers and firearms against Novozvanivka.
In the Mariupol sector, most cease-fire violations happened in Krasnohorivka where the enemy fired with 120-mm and 82-mm mortars on our strongpoints. The ATO troops in Taramchuk, Shyrokyne and Lebedynske came under dense fire from 120-mm mortars. In Vodyane, the enemy used 82-mm mortars, in Berezove - automatic grenade launchers.
Provocations involving the use of firearms continued in the second half of the day in Shyrokyne and Maryinka. A sniper was operating in the area.
In the Donetsk sector, the enemy continued firing with mortars on the ATO positions in Avdiyivka, Zaytseve and Pisky. Near Luhanske, the militants fired with handheld anti-tank grenade launchers. They also used infantry fighting vehicles at the Svitlodarsk salient in this sector.
According to the ATO HQ morning update, one Ukrainian servicemen has been killed and two wounded over the past 24 hours.
At the meeting of the trilateral contact group on a Donbas settlement in Minsk, Ukraine demands a full cease-fire as of 1 September.
