Kyiv urges videoconference of trilateral contact group

Skype-meeting is suggested to be hold tomorrow, on September 1.

Trilateral contact group may hold an emergency video conference on September 1 at 12.00 because of the "ceasefire" violations on the part of the separate areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

"Due to the non-compliance by separate areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions of commitments on ceasefire from midnight of August 31, 2016 in connection with the start of the new academic year, the Ukrainian side has initiated an emergency video conference of the Trilateral Contact Group. Skype-meeting is suggested to be hold tomorrow, on September 1, at 12:00," spokesperson for the Ukraine's second president Leonid Kuchma, who represents Ukraine in the Trilateral Contact Group, Darka Olifer, wrote on her Facebook page on Wednesday.

On 26 August the Contact Group on Donbas held a regular meeting, in which the Ukrainian side expressed the need for a cease-fire on September 1, so that children can go to school. Kyiv also announced preparedness to make serious compromises for the immediate release of its citizens from militant captivity.
