Biden's visit to Ukraine deferred until 16 Jan

US Vice President Joseph Biden postponed his visit to Ukraine from 15 to 16 January, Ukrainian News reported 13 January, citing a source in the diplomatic circles of Ukraine.

Last week's rumours about Biden's plan to visit Ukraine on January 15 were confirmed yesterday by the Presidential Administration of Ukraine and the White House.

The White House statement said that from 15 to 18 January, Biden will visit Kyiv and Davos. In Ukraine, the Vice-President will take part in a bilateral meeting with President Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman.

"The Vice President’s trip to Ukraine will underscore U.S. support - and highlight his personal involvement in providing support - for Ukrainian independence, democratic development, prosperity and security,” the White House announced.

After Ukraine, Biden will attend the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where he is planned to deliver an address on Foreign Policy and participate in several bilateral meetings.
