Pro-Russian militants waged 62 attacks on the positions of the antiterrorist operation (ATO) troops in Donbas, wounding one Ukrainian serviceman, the ATO HQ has said.
In the Mariupol sector, militants fired with mortars on Shyrokyne and Vodyane, with grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms on Hnutove, Talakivka, Pavlopil, Vodyane, Berezove and Novotroyitske. Snipers repeatedly targeted Hnutove and an IFV was used against Shyrokyne and Maryinka.
In the Donetsk sector, the militants fired with 122-mm artillery and 82-mm mortars on Verkhnyotoretske, with grenade launchers and small arms on Luhanske, Pivnichne, Zaytseve, Pivdenne, Novhorodske, Troyitske, Kamyanka and Avdiyivka. A sniper was active near Kamyanka.
In the Luhansk sector, they fired with 152-mm and 122-mm artillery on Novozvanivka and Troyitske, with 120-mm and 82-mm mortars on Novooleksandrivka, Novozvanivka, Valuyske and Staryy Aydar, with grenade launchers and small arms on Stanytsya Luhanska, Novozvanivka and Valuyske. A sniper was active near Krymske.
The ATO press centre also reported two engagements in the Mariupol sector.
A subversive team of seven militants moved towards Trudivskyy under the fire cover late on 13 January. During an engagement, one militant was killed. Documents were found on his body which confirm he was involved with illegal paramilitary units.
At about the same time, a subversive team of five militants moved towards Petrovske but had to retreat under aimed fire. According to the HQ, the militants suffered losses.
