Over the past day, Donbas militants 51 times fired at the positions of Ukrainian troops in the zone of the antiterrorist operation in Donbas, wounding two ATO soldiers.

The press center of the ATO said in a release on Tuesday, 24 January that the enemy fired 120- and 82-mm at Krasnogorivka, Maryinka and Shyrokyno (Mariupol sector). Pavlopil, Hnutove, Talakivka, Novotroitske, Shyrokyne, Vodyane and Lebedynske were pounded with rocket-propelled grenades and small arms. Enemy snipers were active in the areas of Novotroyitske and Shyrokyne.

In the Luhansk sector, the Russian-backed separatists used 122-mm artillery, and 120- and 82-mm mortars against government troops deployed outside Troyitske. Mortars fired at Novozvanivka and Popasna; rocket-propelled grenades, heavy machine guns and small arms pounded Krymske, Troyitske, Novozvanivka, Novooleksandrivka, and Stanytsya village Luhanska, where the disengagement od forces had been planned to be held.

In the Donetsk, Luhanske was pounded with 120-mm mortars. Militants fired rocket-propelled grenades and small arms at Avdiyivke, Zaitseve and Opytne. Pisky was under sniper fire, while Luhanske was shot at by an enemy BMP.

On Monday, January 23, one Ukrainian soldier was reported wounded in combat in Donbas.
