Two ATO troops killed, eight wounded last day
Militants 77 times opened fire on positions of Ukrainian army.
Over the past day in the zone of the antiterrorist operation (ATO) in Donbas militants 77 times shelled the ATO positions, killing two and wounding eight Ukrainian soldiers, the ATO press center reported on 17 March.
In the Mariupol sector, militants used grenade launchers, infantry fighting vehicles and 120-mm mortars to shell Novotroyitske, and pounded Vodyane with 122-mm artillery and 120-mm mortars. The enemy fired mortars at Krasnohorivka and Maryinka, shelled Hnutove with anti-tank grenade launchers and heavy machine guns. Shyrokyne was under the fire of infantry fighting vehicles and small arms.
In the Donetsk sector, the positions of Ukrainian military near Troyitske were shelled with 122-mm artillery and mortars. Terrorists fired 122-mm mortars and artillery and a tank at Avdiyivka and Butivka coalmine. Kamyanka was pounded was shelled with 120-mm mortars, Zaitseve and Nevelske with anti-tank grenade launchers and 82-mm mortars.
In the area of Luhanske, the enemy used IFV weapons and 82-mm mortars.
In the Luhansk sector, Krymske was attacked with the use of 12-mm mortars while Lobachovo were shelled with 82-mm mortars. Novozvanivka was shelled with an anti-tank grenade launcher and small arms as Novooleksandrivka was pounded with mortars and heavy machine guns.
On Thursday, a residential house in Avdiyivka was hit by a militant shell.
