On Thursday, April 6, the European Parliament will consider the issue of granting Ukraine a visa-free travel, according to EP agenda. The voting block for visa-free travel is scheduled to be held at 12:00-14:00 (13:00-15:00 Kyiv time).

Speaker will be the European Parliament rapporteur on visa-free travel Maria Gabriel.

The negotiations on granting visa-free travel for Ukrainian citizens have been dragging on since 2008.

On Wednesday, April 5, the European Parliament held a debate on the issue. Most of the deputies spoke in favor of visa-free travel, stressing that Ukraine has fulfilled all the conditions for this while representatives of right-wing radical factions spoke against.

After the vote, the document will be submitted for adoption by the EU Council. The Council has promised that Ukrainians will be able to travel to EU countries without visas already in June 2017.
