The detectives of the National Anti-corruption Bureau (NABU) on April 20 detained another person in the 17.28mn dollar embezzlement case at the state-owned Eastern Wining and Processing Plant.

In a statement posted at the NABU website on 21 April, the detainee has provided coordination between the intermediary company and EWPP. Pereloma will in the nearest future be indicted of creation of a criminal organization, and gross embezzlement.

"The detained person is also a defendant in another embezzlement probe at Odessa Portside Plant, where the damages inflicted to the state are estimated at 205mn hryvnya. NABU detectives completed the investigation last December and sent to court," the bureau said.

In the OPP probe, charges have also been brought again Pereloma, who was the chairman of the company's supervisory board, and his deputy Mykola Shchurikov.

Previously, NABU detained former People's Deputy Mykola Martynenko who is being suspected of the siphoning of 17.2mn dollars from the state-owned Eastern Wining and Processing Plant.

A court is to choose custody measures to Martynenko later on Friday.
