Over the past day, one Ukrainian soldier was killed and six were wounded in the area of the anti-terrorist operation in Donbas. Seven border guards were injured as a result of the enemy shelling, the ATO press center reported on Facebook on 9 June.
A total of 45 shelling attacks on the ATO positions and front-line settlements by militants were recorded.
In the coastal sector, the terrorists used 120-mm mortars at Shyrokyne and Vodyane, fired 152-mm artillery in the area of Sartana. From the western outskirts of the occupied Donetsk, the enemy pounded Maryinka and Krasnohorivka. Hnutove, Novotroyitske, Bohdanivka and Talakivka repeatedly fell under fire from small arms and grenade launchers.
In addition, during one of the shelling attacks, mortar projectiles hit the residential quarters of Maryinka, having injured a 50-year-old woman. At around 18:30, using powerful artillery, the militants carried out a powerful shelling of the surroundings of Sartana. The shells exploded in the residential sector, where the commandant's office of the State Border Service is located. As a result, the building, cars and other equipment of the unit were damaged. Seven border guards were injured. Also, the building of a local agricultural firm, a gas pipeline and gas distribution station were damaged by ensuing fire. No casualties among civilians were reported.
In the Donetsk sector, there were 19 instances of using weapons by militants. The suburbs of Avdiyivka were pounded from 120- and 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers and small arms, tanks and IFV weapons. 82-mm mortars fired at Zaitseve, Verkhnyotoretske and Kamyanka. In the area of Mayororske, Luhanske, Pisky and Nevelske they fired grenade launchers and small arms.
During the shelling of Kamyanka, several enemy shells hit the residential area of the village having wounded a 15-year old local boy. With numerous injuries, he was rushed to an Avdiyivka hospital, and later to Pokrovsk. The state of his health is satisfactory.
In the Luhansk sector the situation has relatively stabilized, even though the shelling contunued. A total of 8 such cases were recorded. In the morning, militants twice hit the ATO positions in the area of Tryokhizbenka, and fired at the positions of Ukrainian military stationed in the area of Katerynivka in midday and in the evening using the same artillery system. In the Nyzhnyotneply district, Donets rail station and Popasna , militants fired grenade launchers and small arms.
