An observer with the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) was killed in a road incident in Kramatorsk, Donetsk Region on the morning of 18 January, Interfax-Ukraine has reported.
"The SMM confirms that this morning, one of our observers got involved in a motorway incident. He was riding in a taxi in Kramatorsk and was killed as a result of the incident," the press service of the mission told the agency.
Earlier, Russian mass media reported, quoting militants, that Vitaliy Zara, a representative of the OSCE SMM in Ukraine, tragically died in Kramatorsk.
The mission's press service did not release any details of the incident.
In April, a member of the OSCE monitoring mission, UK national Joseph Stone was killed by a mine explosion in a rebel-held territory of Luhansk Region. German national Iva Gnelin had a concussion.
