President Petro Poroshenko says he would decide whether he is running for a second presidential term depending on how successful are the next six months, Interfax-Ukraine reported on 25 January.
"We have more than a year before the elections, the cycle will begin only in the autumn. My decision will depend on how successful are the next six months," the president said in response to a journalist's question.
The next presidential election in Ukraine will be held in the spring of 2019.
Fatherland's Yuliya Tymoshenko and Petro Poroshenko are holding lead in the most recent popularity polls.
