Ukraine's Prosecutor-General Yuriy Lutsenko stands for the legalization of handguns in Ukraine.
"Incidentally, I am a staunch supporter of the legalization of handguns for adults who have passed the necessary checks, especially for those who have property and the need to protect it," Lutsenko said in an interview to Segodnya published on Monday, 29 January.
In Ukraine, civilians are forbidden to own short-barrelled weapons. The Verkhovna Rada has registered a number of bills on the legalization of such weapons.
In May 2015, then-Prosecutor-General Viktor Shokin also advocated the legalization of short-barrelled weapons in Ukraine.
