The Kremlin has undermined the legitimacy of Russian presidential elections as such, the political director of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Oleksiy Makeyev, has said in a commentary for LB.ua.
"Having boldly held the election in an occupied territory in violation of all its international commitments, the Kremlin put in doubt the legitimacy of elections as such," he said.
Makeyev expects Ukraine and its partners to introduce sanctions against those "involved in the organization of this provocation".
As reported earlier, Germany, the Scandinavian countries and France do not recognize the legitimacy of the Russian presidential election in annexed Crimea.
