The situation in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area remained difficult on 31 May, with engagements taking place along the entire line of contact, the JFO HQ has said on Facebook.

Three Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in combat amid 26 violations of ceasefire by pro-Russian militants. On seven occasions the militants used 120-mm and 82-mm artillery and 122-mm artillery banned by the Minsk agreements.

In the Luhansk sector, active engagements continued near Novotoshkivske, in the Donetsk sector near Novoselivka Druha and Kamyanka, in the Sea of Azov area near Chermalyk, Pavlopil and Vodyane.

On 31 May, in violation of the international humanitarian law, the enemy fired around 30 shells and bombs at Chermalyk. A bomb hit a private yard, according to the Ukrainian representative at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination of Ceasefire.

According to intelligence, two occupiers were killed and two wounded. Five items of hardware, including two lorries with ammunition, one automobile of unidentified type, one ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft twin-barreled autocannon and one mortar.
