Ukraine has invited OSCE observe to monitor the presidential election, however applications for accreditation from the holders of Russian passports will not be accepted.
"Several days ago, as is custom, I sent an invitation to the director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, Ingibjorg Solrun, to send a mission to observe the presidential election in Ukraine. Among other standard things, I noted that the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry will not accept applications for accreditation of Russian observers," he said on Facebook.
He added that he deems this decision necessary in the case of observers from the "aggressor and occupier state". The OSCE had numerous precedents of such situation in the past.
Earlier, Ukraine decided against opening polling stations for the presidential election in Russia.
Election day is 31 March 2019.
