Motor Sich Airlines carried out the first flight from Kyiv to Lviv to Uzhhorod on 15 March, Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan has said on Facebook.
According to the Ukrainian News agency, the flight will be carried out on Fridays.
It leaves Kyiv's Ihor Sikorskyy airport (Zhulyany) at 10.00 a.m. and lands in Lviv at 11.15 a.m. It then leaves Lviv at 12.30 and lands in Uzhhorod at 1.00 p.m.
The return flight takes off from Uzhhorod at 2.30 p.m. to land in Lviv at 3.00 p.m. It will leave Lviv at 5.50 p.m. and land in Kyiv at 7.10 p.m.
Uzhhorod airport has not accepted any regular flights since 2016 when the Ukrainian-Slovak agreement on the transfer of responsibility for air traffic control and operation of Uzhhorod airport expired.
The airport is located very close to the state border with Slovakia, therefore planes have to enter the Slovak airspace during takeoff and landing.
