President Petro Poroshenko has dismissed the chairman of the Poltava regional state administration, Valeriy Holovko.
The president said at a meeting of the Regional Development Council in Poltava that Holovko's deputy Roman Tovstyy will fill in as acting regional governor.
Holovko was dismissed to "ensure an unbiased investigation" being carried out into his activities by the National Anticorruption Bureau of Ukraine, Poroshenko explained.
"This is a logical decision that should become a model for any similar cases," he added.
Holovko was put in charge of Poltava Region in 2014.
