Only two days after the desecration of the monument to the Holocaust victims in Mykolaiv, which took place on September 15, a similar crime has been committed today in the Kirovohrad region.
The pattern of the vandals is absolutely identical, right down to the text of the letters with threats against the Jews that they left at the crime scenes. Such manner of the vandals’ actions may indicate that we are dealing with an anti-Semitic organization. This has been shared by the President of the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine Boris Lozhkin on his Facebook page.
“Taking into account the identical text, we can talk about an anti-Semitic organization, which makes the situation dangerous for the Ukrainian Jews, since anti-Semitic organizations rarely stop at the desecration of monuments,” wrote Lozhkin.
The JCU has already issued a statement expressing extreme concern about the events. “We urge the law enforcers to approach the issue of identifying the criminals as responsibly as possible,” they published on the JCU website.
The Jewish Confederation also appealed to the citizens of Ukraine with a request to help the law enforcement authorities: “Fix the actions of vandals and report them to the law enforcement authorities or to the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine by phone (044) 584 49 53.”
Earlier Boris Lozhkin already informed that 11 criminal proceedings on the offenses related to anti-Semitism had been opened since the beginning of the year.
