The Constitutional Court of Ukraine elected Oleksandr Tupytskyy its new head at a special plenary meeting on 17 September.
Earlier today, it accepted the resignation of its previous head Natalya Shaptala.
Tupytskyy was appointed a judge of the Constitutional Court in May 2013. He was a judge of Donetsk's Kuybyshevskyy district court from 1993 to 2002, when he headed it. He also worked in the courts of appeal in Donetsk, Lviv and Dnipropetrovsk.
Serhiy Holovatyy was elected deputy chairman of the Constitutional Court.
