The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has said that new vacancies have disappeared from the job market, its first deputy governor Kateryna Rozhkova has said in a video report on the economic results of the first month of the quarantine.
"Unfortunately, there are almost no new vacancies in the job market. Although entrepreneurs and business owners are trying to keep jobs, a very big share of people have lost income," she said.
Most banks are meeting entrepreneurs, population and business halfway by providing credit holidays and not cutting card limits.
The NBU said that it is strong enough to withstand the quarantine period.
However, Rozhkova pointed out that Ukraine badly needs international aid, above all from the IMF.
