"Russia wants not only to overthrow the Ukrainian government and install their puppet leaders here but also to cause maximum damage, including environmental damage", - says Mykhailo Podoliak, the adviser to the head of the President's Office.

The enemy tried to perform a terrorist attack on the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

Podoliak stressed that there are ongoing battles along the Ukrainian border with Russia, and Belarus actively supports it.

Russia's armed forces, especially in the south and east, are not only attacking military infrastructure but have already begun to strike at civilian infrastructure. In Vuhledar, the hospital was bombed, BM-31 "Grad" attacked micro districts of Mariupol. It is clear that Russia's special operation - forcing demilitarization - no longer looks as it was intended," he said.

Earlier, the occupying forces entered the Chornobyl Zone moving from the territory of Belarus. The National Guard holds the defense.
