The European Union will ban broadcasting of the Russian propagandist TV companies Russia Today and Sputnik in all countries of the block.
This was announced by EU Head of Diplomacy Josep Borrell, according to European Truth.
"Today we are taking a decisive step to turn off the stream for information manipulation of Russians in Europe. We ban Russia Today and Sputnik from broadcasting in the European Union, Borrell said. "Putin not only wants to seize the land, he also wants to capture people's souls with toxic messages and lies."
It will be recalled that today the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov called on Mark Zuckerberg to block Russians from accessing Facebook and Instagram.
The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine has asked YouTube to block a number of Russian propaganda channels. On Saturday YouTube said that due to "extraordinary circumstances", the video host would suspend the opportunity for RussiaToday and other Russian state media to sell advertising on its channels. The service also said it would limit video recommendations that had been published by these channels.
