Ministry sources further indicated that these "Strela" are missiles from the reserves of the armed forces of former East Germany.

According to the agency, the GDR [East Germany] was armed with the same Soviet MPADS "Strela".

"Strela" is a Soviet anti-aircraft missile system designed to observe and destroy air targets at low altitudes visually.

Prior to Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Germany refused to supply Ukraine with weapons and even blocked supplies coming from other countries.
