A captured Russian technician told the Security Service of Ukraine that desertion among the occupiers is becoming widespread. Russian invaders are fleeing the army, even on their way to Ukraine.
The captive's main task was to remove faulty Russian vehicles from Ukrainian territory. The man made several journeys from the Crimea to the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions and saw the scale of desertion very clearly.
"Many Russians escape even during their journey to the destination; no one says anything to anyone. Even the armed forces are against the war. We are threatened with seven years in prison, and this is the only thing holding us back," the captured occupier admitted.
Even the Russian FSB (Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation), whose officers are attached to each battalion tactical group, is powerless.
"The officers just fail to take responsibility. They are not allocating specific tasks. They are not doing their job properly," the captured Russian serviceman explained.
