Lavrov says that Russia attacked Ukraine “so there will be no war”

Sergiy Lavrov mentioned another reason why Russian President Volodymyr Putin attacked Ukraine.

Lavrov wrote about this on Twitter.

According to the Russian diplomat, by attacking Ukraine, Russia wanted to “stop any war”.

“The purpose of Russia’s special mission is to stop any war that could unfold on the territory of Ukraine or could start from there,”Lavrov said.

Earlier, Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mevlut Cavusoglu announced the possibility of a tripartite meeting of ministers from Ukraine, Turkey and Russia in Antalya, Turkey.

As a reminder, Putin declared war on Ukraine under the pretext of a "special mission in Donbas" (the day before, Russia recognized the "DPR" and "LPR" terrorist organizations as "republics" and allowed troops to enter there). On 24 February, Russia carried out a military invasion of Ukraine and began bombing and shelling cities and towns, destroying infrastructure and killing civilians. Currently, Ukrainians continue to oppose the occupying forces. The main focus of the Russians is the encirclement of Kyiv and the weakening of resistance in settlements close to the capital.

Earlier, ZN.UA reported that Ukrainian special services have information about Putin's plan to seize Kyiv and split Ukraine into two parts - on the principle of West and East Germany or North and South Korea. The Russian Federation would recognize the ‘legitimate’ part, which would sign these agreements and be loyal to the Russian Federation.
