On 7 March around 8.20 pm, Russian occupiers carried out air strikes on oil tank farms in Zhytomyr city and Cherniakhiv settlement.
This is reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine press service.
“In Zhytomyr, a 10-cubic-meter oil storage tank caught fire. According to preliminary data, there are no casualties. 20 persons and 4 units of equipment of the State Emergency Service were involved in putting out the fire. In Cherniakhiv, two half-empty tanks caught fire (the data about their capacity is being specified). The residents of the nearby private houses have been evacuated. According to preliminary data, there are no casualties. 24 persons and 5 units of equipment of the State Emergency Service were involved in the extinguishing,” the rescue workers report.
At 9.30 pm, the fire had already been localized. The extinguishing of two 10-cubic-meter tanks is still going on. In total, there are 9 tanks on the territory of the oil tank farm.
The subdivisions of the State Emergency Service are getting ready for a foam attack.
In Cherniakhiv, two half-empty 2-thousand-cubic-meter tanks are burning. In total, there are 17 tanks on the territory.
The distance from the area of fire to the residential buildings is about 500-600 meters.
According to preliminary data, there are no casualties.
As a reminder, on the night of 6 March, Russian occupiers carried out several air strikes on residential areas in the cities of Korosten and Ovruch in the Zhytomyr region. As a result of the bombardment, dozens of private houses were ruined. There are casualties.
