Over the past 24 hours, the situation in Sumy region remains difficult. Sumy and surrounding areas are constantly under bombardment. Enemy artillery covers cities and towns with fire, – the head of the Sumy Regional State Administration Dmytro Zhyvytskyy.
Okhtyrka
The city was bombed by artillery in the evening. The blow fell on residential areas and the combined heat and power facility (CHP), which had already been destroyed by Russian bombs. The information is being updated, all emergency services are working.
Trostyanets
The only city in the region that remains under Russian occupation. Local authorities say they are doing everything to ensure the city's livelihood.
"Today there was a tough conversation with the head of the community. Yurii Bova assured that all deputies are in their places and they work. The head of the community also assured that he ensures the livelihood of the city," Zhyvytskyy said.
Sumy district
During the day, territorial defense lost four fighters in an unequal battle with the enemy. The Russian enemy planes dropped air bombs on the city and area after 11 pm.
"The bombing destroyed and damaged houses, injured people in residential areas of Sumy. There are dead and injured, rescuers are working on the ground. There are children among the victims," Zhyvytskyy said.
Update. The State Emengency Service reported that 9 people (including 2 children) were killed, 8 people (including 1 child) were injured, 1 person was rescued and 7 private houses were destroyed in the Sumy district. 32 people and 6 vehicles were involved in resque operations.
