Brown-Forman Corporation has decided to suspend business in the Russian Federation due to its military aggression in Ukraine.

This was reported by the company's press office.

"We are ceasing business in Russia. We are joining the world community in calling for peace. We are horrified to see millions of Ukrainians continue to face the grim realities of war. Our thoughts are with them and with all those filled with fear and uncertainty. Displaced and seeking refuge, suffering, seeking peace, grieving and losing loved ones. Due to the war in Ukraine, we are suspending commercial operations in Russia, " Brown-Forman writes.

The company emphasized that it maintains contact with Ukrainian colleagues, providing assistance and financial support to help them in this difficult time.

Brown-Forman's portfolio includes Jack Daniel's whiskey, Woodford Reserve, Old Forester, Finlandia vodka, Pepe Lopez Tequila and el Jimador among others. The company's products are present in over 170 countries.

After Russia attacked Ukraine, Western companies and organizations have been leaving the Russian market. Today it emerged that the American lingerie brand Victoria's Secret is leaving Russia, and KFC and Pizza Hut are closing their restaurants in the country. Coca-Cola and Starbucks’ network of coffee shops stopped operating in Russia yesterday while Russian McDonald's restaurants have also “temporarily closed”.

Procter & Gamble has also announced that it would stop investing and advertising in Russia - keeping only essential hygiene products which it will also seek to reduce.
