The United States is banning the export of luxury goods to Russia and making it difficult for Russian oligarchs to purchase high-quality products.
This was announced on Friday by US President Joe Biden, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
"We are banning the export of luxury goods to Russia ... We also plan to make it more difficult for them to buy high-quality goods in our country," Biden said.
He noted that the sanctions lists of the United States would include new names of billionaires from Russia and members of their families.
In addition, the United States bans the import of alcohol, diamonds, and seafood from Russia.
These sanctions complemented previous restrictive measures implemented due to Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
