Pentagon resumes operations of the team to speed up the provision of weapons to Ukraine, - Reuters

The Pentagon resumes the operations of the special team to meet the increased demand for arms purchases and weapon transfers among allies. This is happening against the background that the states, including Ukraine, are seeking to strengthen their defense capabilities through the war started by Russia, Reuters reports, citing three sources.

The Pentagon's Arms Acquisition and Procurement Office is in high demand from European countries that hope to supply weapons to Ukraine through a third party or buy them for their own defense.

Restoring this rapid response force will help reduce the arms sales and transportation bureaucracy. Such a group worked at the Pentagon during the presidency of Donald Trump.

"As part of the Department of Defense's ongoing supply chain sustainability efforts, the Department is assessing the capacity of the industrial base to produce goods to be critical to our national security and the security of allies and partners. Efforts are focused on identifying key supply chain constraints," the representative of the defense sector said.

Another American official said on the condition of anonymity that some countries may use the Russian war against Ukraine to try to get the weapons they had not been provided before.
