79% of France, Germany, Italy, and Poland approve of economic and financial sanctions against Russia, 67% approve of the supply of military equipment to Ukraine, 71% support Ukraine's accession to the European Union.
These are the results of a poll conducted by Ifop on behalf of the Yalta European Strategy and the Jean-Jaures Foundation.
In Poland, 92% of the population support Ukraine's accession to the EU, in Italy - 71%, Germany - 68%, and France - 62%.
84% of respondents have a positive attitude towards Ukraine, and 16% of respondents - to Russia.
75% of respondents have a positive attitude towards the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy; 9% of respondents - to Volodymyr Putin.
79% of respondents approve of economic and financial sanctions against Russia (in particular, 57% agree to all of them).
67% of respondents approve of the supply of military equipment to Ukraine, and 87% of respondents - the reception of refugees.
71% of respondents support Ukraine's accession to the European Union. In addition, 68% of respondents support the creation of a European army.
The survey was conducted by fulfillment of an online questionnaire from 3 to 7 March 2022 based on a representative sample provided by the quota method (sex, age, profession of the respondent) after stratification by regions and categories of agglomerations. The survey was conducted among the countries' population aged 18 and older: France - 1002 people, Germany - 1011 people, Italy - 1001 people, Poland - 994 people.
On 10 March 2022, the leaders of the European Union approved a declaration containing a compromise recognition of Ukraine's EU membership prospects. Commenting on it, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that "this is not what we expect."
