Humanitarian convoy left Zaporizhzhia for Mariupol

Humanitarian convoy and buses for evacuating the civilians from Mariupol left Zaporizhzhia, the deputy head of the President’s Office, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, reported on Telegram.

“Mariupol - a lot of efforts have been made so that the corridor (evacuation - ed.) would work today, and people would receive help. There is a convoy in Zaporizhzhia with humanitarian aid and evacuation buses. The priests are accompanying this convoy. They had already left. Mariupol, we stand with you!” Tymoshenko wrote.

On March 12, the Minister of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories, Iryna Vereshchuk, announced the opening of humanitarian corridors for civilian evacuation for the residents from the warfare zones and areas of intense shellings by the Russian army. In particular, there will be a humanitarian corridor to Zaporizhzhia from Mariupol through Vasylivka, Melitopol, Berdiansk, Manhush.

On March 11, the evacuation of civilian residents from Mariupol, Volnovakha, Izium, Makarov, Borodianka, and villages in the Kyiv region failed as Russians violated the ceasefire agreement.

According to the General Staff briefing, Russian occupiers are trying to capture Mariupol and Severodonetsk.
