In the Luhansk region, the Russians killed volunteer Oleksandr Kononov

The Russian occupiers have killed a well-known volunteer, Oleksandr Kononov in the village of Borivske near Severodonetsk, Luhansk region.

Serhiy Haidai, the Luhansk regional military administration head, wrote about this in a Telegram channel.

"Oleksandr Kononov R.I.P. Russians killed a Ukrainian volunteer in his own house in Borivske, near Severodonetsk," he wrote.

According to Haidai, Kononov was shot in his wheelchair.

Though Kononov lost an arm and a leg due to an accident, he has helped Ukrainian volunteers since the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2014. He brought them food in his car and sometimes delivered soldiers to their position.

"People's Militia" captured Kononov and his wife and they spent 98 days in captivity. After the release, he founded his own business, "Syry Sanycha" ("Sanych' cheeses"), at the beginning in the Zhytomyr region and then in the Cherkasy region. He later returned to his native Luhansk region.
