At around 11:00 today, March 14, the air defense forces shot down a Russian missile. Its wreckage fell on a residential building in Podil.

The adviser to the Ministry of Internal Affairs head, Anton Gerashchenko, reported it.

"20 minutes ago, our air defense worked over Kyiv, shot down a rocket, the remains fell into a house in Podil," Gerashchenko wrote in a telegram channel.

He clarified that the wreckage of a downed Russian Nazi cruise missile fell on Kurenivka.

The trolleybus, which was without passengers, was completely destroyed, Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko said.

"The windows were blown out, the balconies of the surrounding houses and commercial premises on the ground floors were damaged. Rescuers and ambulance crews are working on the spot," the mayor said.

The press service of the Kyiv police reported that law enforcement officers are documenting the consequences of the missile strike in the capital's Podil, police and other relevant services are working on the ground.

"Today, an enemy shell hit the yard of a residential building in the Podilskyi district of Kyiv. Information about the victims is being clarified," the police said.

Updated on 13:06. According to the State Emergency Service, on March 14 at 11:15, a report of a fire in the Podilskyi district of the capital was received.

Rescuers found that due to enemy shelling between residential 5 and 10-storey buildings, a fire broke out in two apartments on the 3rd and 4th floors of a 5-storey residential building.

At 11:42, the fire was localized on 25 square meters, and at 11:49 - liquidated.

"According to preliminary information, 1 person was killed, and 6 people were injured, of which 5 people were hospitalized before the arrival of fire and rescue units," the SES said.
