Latvia became the third country to decide to close the sky over Ukraine from the Russian aggressor and provide humanitarian corridors.

This was announced by the Chairman of the Parliament of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk.

"The Parliament of the Republic of Latvia is among the first three who decided to support the appeal of closing the sky over Ukraine. With this statement, members of Latvian Parliament express their support for Ukraine, its Defenders, and the People of Ukraine in the fight against Russia," the Chairman wrote on Facebook.

The Chairman of the Parliament of Ukraine thanked his Latvian colleagues for their support.

"As the sky is endless, so is my endless gratitude to the Speaker of the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia, Inari Murniece, and all the deputies. May the determination of the parliaments of other countries be as endless. Close the sky over Ukraine!" Stefanchuk added.

On 14 March 2022, the Parliament of the Republic of Estonia addressed UN states-members to close the sky over Ukraine from the Russian aggressor.

The appeal to close the sky over Ukraine was also supported by the Lithuanian Parliament.
