Ukraine will directly purchase primary social products from Ukrainian manufacturers.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, announced this in his video address.
"Starting tomorrow, these products will be distributed for free to people in those cities that are already encircled or are on the front line... We have formed a list of primary social products: from cereals and grains to canned food and oil. Ministry of Communities and Territories Development every day updates a list of cities where these products should be delivered, "said the Prime Minister.
Local military administrations will submit applications on products volumes for each of these cities to the government.
Ukrzaliznytsia buys products and delivers them to the regions in cooperation with the Humanitarian Headquarters. As for delivery to the temporarily occupied settlements, we will involve international humanitarian organizations, "Shmyhal said.
He emphasized that the products would be distributed to people for free.
The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated 18bn hryvnias to Ukrzaliznytsia to implement such a project.
"The program will also stimulate the development of Ukraine's food production, and the food industry is becoming one of the primary sectors of the economy," Shmyhal added.
The Cabinet of Ministers has instructed local authorities together with the National Police, the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection, and the State Service for Medications and Drugs Control to ensure control over the prices of a number of goods from retailers.
