Scotland and Wales are ready to host 4,000 Ukrainians fleeing Russian military aggression.
This was reported by the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security.
"The governments of Scotland and Wales are ready to accept 4,000 refugees from Ukraine under the “Homes for Ukraine program”," the Scottish and Welsh governments said in a joint statement.
The Homes for Ukraine program provides that refugees can agree on accommodation with individuals or legal entities, but the United Kingdom will not take part in the process.
It is noted that Scotland and Wales themselves initiated state aid for Ukrainians, agreeing that Scotland will accept 3,000 migrants, and Wales - a thousand.
Due to Russia's military invasion, according to the latest estimates of the UN Migration Agency, more than 6.5 m Ukrainians became internally displaced and 3.2 m people went abroad.
